Dhia Rezki Rohaizad (he/him) is a Junior Professional Consultant on research at ILGA World.
He is currently undertaking a master’s degree in development studies from the University of Malaya and holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Commercial Law from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.
Dhia has experience in dealing with many human rights issues. Starting off his career as an educator, he has taught students from underprivileged backgrounds as part of the Teach For Malaysia Fellowship. He has also worked with young refugees from Myanmar to give them access to a quality education. He then moved to research, as he began working on reforming prison health management as well as building a stronger database for youth who use drugs.
His volunteering experience involves him working with grassroots LGBT organisations like Jejaka to provide social support and welfare to the LGBT community in Malaysia. He has also advocated for better drug policies and harm reduction initiatives to end the war on drugs through the youth-led movement of Pilih Peluang.
In his spare time, Dhia enjoys caring for his two cats; spending time with loved ones; and dancing to the trendiest K-pop songs.
