ILGA World seeks a Senior Programme Officer: UN Special Procedures and Sustainable Development Goalsto develop its UN advocacy and policy work in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as to lead our engagement with UN Special Procedures. In addition, the position will also include leading ILGA World’s engagement on the thematic of Business, Workplace and LGBTI Equality.
Anyone with dedication to - and experience in regard to - the human and social rights of persons of diverse sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expressions and sex characteristics who meets the requirements set out below is welcome to apply.
ILGA seeks a Senior Programme Officer: UN Special Procedures and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs and SPs) to develop its UN advocacy and policy work in the context of the SDGs, as well as to lead ILGA World’s engagement with UN Special Procedures. In addition, the position will also include leading ILGA World’s engagement on the thematic of Business, Workplace and LGBTI Equality.
ILGA’s advocacy and policy work in these contexts is highly collaborative with our members and LGBTI human rights defenders from national level and seeks to connect national level activists and global level UN human rights mechanisms. The successful candidate will have to be able to navigate diplomatic, government, civil society and UN spaces alike. The person will work in close collaboration with the UN institutions, permanent missions, other civil society actors and activists on national level – providing technical and other assistance to them in the context of UN mechanisms.
The Senior Programme Officer report to the Manager of the UN Programme.
The ideal candidate will start working on 1 January 2022.
